A celebration of life for late arts advocate Shane Morrow is set for Sept.
20 from 4-6 p.m. at Walker Theatre in Memorial Auditorium, where family & friends will gather to remember his impact on local music and art.
Picnooga (a local historical society) and the African American Cemetery Preservation Fund won a $35K state grant to share stories about 12 African Americans from Pleasant Garden Cemetery.
Free monologue readings are scheduled for Oct. 11, Oct. 18, and Oct. 25 at local venues.

Tourism in Hamilton County generated nearly $1.9B in visitor spending in 2025—a 4% rise from 2024 that supported 13,177 jobs and over $192 million in taxes.
Future events including Ultra Trail Chattanooga, Ironman and World of Bluegrass festival may spur further growth.

Fans from the region traveled early for the UT season opener on Saturday near Neyland Stadium, enjoying tailgating traditions—live music, food trucks and family rituals—despite a brief thunderstorm that canceled the Vol Walk.
UTC lost 24-9 to Tennessee Tech in its home opener Saturday at Finley Stadium.
The Mocs struggled on third downs and passing, and they will play Eastern Kentucky next weekend before hosting Wofford Sept. 19.
