About this event
Join N’nako Kandé, founder of Silent Hour™, filmmaker, poet, cultural storyteller, and creator of The Art of Rooting™, for a unique outdoor French immersion experience at Audubon Acres! Designed for homeschool students ages 8–18, French in the Forest blends French language, nature exploration, cultural storytelling, creativity, and mindful grounding practices. Participants become Les Gardiens du Bois, the Guardians of the Woods, as they explore the forest through short hikes, French vocabulary, art, poetry, conservation activities, and un petit goûter, a French-style snack moment. Each week brings a new theme, from colors and leaves to birds, trees and roots, plants, forest bathing, emotions, butterflies, and ecosystems. Fall Edition | Level 1 | 6-Week Series You can join us for just one class or sign up for the entire 6-week series! Individual sessions are $38 per student, or register for all six weeks for $145. Each session is 75–90 minutes, with a group size of 15–20 participants. Younger children are welcome with a chaperone. The final session includes a closing ceremony and a Les Gardiens du Bois Certificate, celebrating each participant’s creativity, stewardship, and connection to the forest. Come for one adventure or make the whole six-week journey with us!
