Tunnel Vision: Making 3D-Tunnel Books with Hollie Chastain

About this event

In this hands-on workshop, participants will create their own tunnel books, dimensional paper artworks that unfold to reveal layered scenes and surprising depth. We’ll start with a slideshow of tunnel books through history to get some inspiration and ideas. Then, using cutting, folding, and simple bookbinding techniques, we’ll explore how images, space, and storytelling work together across multiple panels. Participants will design and build a tunnel book inspired by a theme, story, or place, leaving with at least one finished piece and the skills to keep experimenting at home. We’ll be using clipped images and shapes or your own creations! Three days of 3D bookmaking bliss!
