About this event
Enjoy a colorful Fine Arts Festival celebrating local artists at the beautiful, historic Old Woolen Mill in downtown Cleveland, Tennessee! The Dye Creek Fine Arts Festival invites the community to spend the day exploring art, discovering local creativity and experiencing one of Cleveland’s unique historic landmarks. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a supporter of local artists or simply looking for something fun to do, this festival offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy art and history in one special setting.
This festival will showcase not only art, but will also give attendees the opportunity to experience the historic mill and get up close to the infamous Dye Creek. The waterway runs through the mill and exits on the south end, adding a unique feature to the festival’s setting.
Dye Creek has an interesting story of its own! The name refers to the waterway that runs through the mill, but it isn’t its official name, and you won’t find it on any map. Instead, the nickname comes from local children who would return home the “color of the day” after playing in the creek near the mill. This local bit of history adds another layer of character to the location and makes exploring the area part of the experience.
The event will be hosted in the outdoor courtyard at the south end of the mill, behind the Castaway Stage. Follow the signs to find your way to the festivities!
The event starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 5 p.m., and it’s FREE to enter! That means visitors can enjoy an afternoon of art, history and community without an admission fee.
The Dye Creek Fine Arts Festival is organized by Dwight Richardson for the Art is Here Partnership.
While you’re there, don’t forget to explore the rest of the mill! Several other great events are happening the same day, so make time to visit Hetzel Art, ArtHouse Project and Grit & Grace Market, too.
Bring your friends and family, enjoy the creativity of local artists and discover everything this historic destination has to offer. Be sure to visit them all!
